“We know that stone paintings can be found in various locations throughout Xizang. However, what distinguishes the stone paintings we are exhibiting is their unique origin; they were collected by villagers from Pangda Village. Subsequently, these stones were transformed into artworks. We can say that they stand for the artistic wisdom of villagers from Yadong County and carry profound significance in safeguarding and stabilizing our nation’s borders.” On May 2, “Three Countries in One Frame, Picturesque Four Seasons, and Colorful Yadong County: Cultural Exchange and Featured Product Exhibition & Sales Event of Yadong County” was held in the Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa, Xizang. During the opening ceremony, one of the event organizers introduced the “origin” of these exquisite small stones displayed on the booth.

Yadong, which means “the deep valley with torrent” in Tibetan, is situated in the southern part of the Xizang Autonomous Region. It is one of the border counties under the jurisdiction of Xigaze. It extends southward to the area between India and Bhutan. This area serves as a vital window for fostering friendly exchanges between China and South Asian countries. The warm and moist air currents from the Indian Ocean penetrate deeply into this area, contributing to its delightful climate throughout all seasons and creating a magnificent natural environment.

At the event, a display area was established to showcase distinctive cultural and creative products, as well as an exhibition of intangible cultural heritage. It highlighted the significant achievements of Yadong County in fostering the integrative development of cultural inheritance and industrial innovation, transitioning from traditional skills to modern production techniques.
