On March 29, a photography exhibition themed on black-necked cranes, sponsored by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Xizang Autonomous Region, was held in Lhasa.

The black-necked crane is the only crane that breeds and resides on the plateau. In recent years, with ongoing enhancements in ecological protection efforts in Xizang, the black-necked crane population has steadily increased, and their habitat range has consistently expanded. In February 2025, the black-necked crane was chosen as the city bird of Lhasa.

It has been reported that 100 photographic works were selected for this exhibition, showcasing the elegant and dynamic ecological beauty of black-necked cranes on the snow-covered plateau. These images aim to show the achievements in ecological civilization construction, green tourism, and the development of the bird-watching economy in Xizang in recent years, with black-necked cranes serving as a symbol. In conjunction with this photography exhibition, a photo album, stamp collection, and postcard series themed around black-necked cranes will be launched in Xizang shortly. This initiative aims to enhance the cultural tourism brand image of this event.
