On March 7, Mingji Tsomo, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and professor at the Xizang University of Tibetan Medicine, said in an interview that this year she brought several proposals on Tibetan medicine’s discipline development, scientific research and construction of key laboratories, establishment of Tibetan medicine quality standards, and other aspects to help the high-quality development of Tibetan medicine and high-altitude medicine.
Mingji Tsomo also stated, “Personally, I am actively engaged in research on high-altitude medicine. Given that the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau is situated in a high-altitude environment, our ancestors have accumulated extensive empirical knowledge and practical experience in this field. I believe that Tibetan medicine will play a vital role in advancing global efforts to address high-altitude medical challenges—and in developing evidence-informed diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.”
