On January 11, the sixth meeting of the 11th Lhasa Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in Lhasa. During the meeting, four major issues: Lhasa’s stability, development, ecology, and strong borders were focused by political advisors.

During the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, Lhasa’s characteristic industrial development system has taken shape, with the pure land health industry and cultural tourism industry as two core driving industries and business logistics, strategic emerging industries, productive service industries and strategic resource-based industries as its four auxiliary supporting industries.

Guo Hui, a member of the Lhasa Municipal Committee of the CPPCC from the industrial and commercial sector, suggested that the development and growth of characteristic and advantageous industries is a long-term task, which will enable Lhasa’s characteristic industries to quickly transform from the key cultivation period to the development period.

Penba Drolma, a member of the Lhasa Municipal Committee of the CPPCC from the medical and health sector, said, “Lhasa, as a region with relatively backward medical conditions, should be prepared for danger at all times. Prevention should come first, and shortcomings should be supplemented in order to speed up the construction of the public health management system.”
